What kinds of network cables are there now? What's the difference?
The network we contact daily is basically a local area network (LAN), and the network cable is mainly twisted pair. Twisted pairs are pairs of insulated metal wires twisted together to protect against electromagnetic interference from the outside world, but more importantly to reduce the interference of their own signals. The interference generated by one wire during signal transmission is cancelled out by the interference generated by the other wire.
Now we can access the network cable, mainly five types of cables and above the network cable. Before class five, there are class one, class two, class three, and class four.
First class lines, the earliest cables used in telephone systems, cannot carry data services;
Type 2 lines were used in early token networks;
Three types of lines are mainly used in 10M Ethernet, token networks, and telephone networks;
The four types of lines are mainly used by token networks and 10M/100M Ethernet;
Now Category 1 to Category 4 lines have been largely phased out and few people use them.
Class 5 cable (CAT5) can support 10/100M/1000M Ethernet, which is the most common network cable we came into contact with at the beginning. Class 5 is the lowest specification of GIGABit Ethernet network cable, but only supports half - duplex gigabit Ethernet.
Cat5e is the enhanced version of CAT5E, which can support 10/100/1000M Ethernet and full duplex gigabit network. Super 5 cable is the most widely used network cable in the existing network.
Cat6 is a kind of network cable that supports network transmission above 1Gbps. Compared with Cat6, it strengthens the resistance to crosstalk and noise. Compared with Class 5 cables (super Class 5 cables), Class 6 cables have an insulated cross skeleton. The four pairs of twisted pair cables are placed in the four slots of the cross skeleton, and the wire diameters are larger than those of Class 5 cables. There are two branches above the six types of lines, which are Cat6e and Cat6a. Cat6e and Cat6a support data transmission of 10Gbps, but Cat6e only supports the distance of 55 meters, while Cat6a can support data transmission of 100 meters. Now Cat6a is the mainstream product of 10Gbps Ethernet network. At present, Cat6a is the mainstream product, Cat6e has been gradually abandoned by the market.
Cat7 can support up to 10Gbps transmission rate, transmission bandwidth of 600MHz, is a relatively new type of network cable, the seven types of wire is shielded, crystal head also with metal shielding, appears to be more advanced. And the price is expensive.
Cat8 is the current market luxury network cable, transmission rate up to 40Gbps, transmission bandwidth 2000MHz, the current broadband network level can bear. Are shielded network cables, and the production of eight types of wire or double shielded. Better shielding effect, mainly used in the construction of advanced luxury projects. The price is relatively expensive. Different manufacturers of network cable prices are not the same, but to find some large factory technology and quality guarantee, Ai Peng network technology is very good.
All in all, we often use the general cabling started from five types of wire, now has developed to eight types of wire. However, the mainstream gigabit network in the market still uses six types of network cables, while ten gigabit network mainly uses seven and eight types of network cables. As far as family use is concerned, super six types of line networking is enough to meet the needs of families, and then high really some waste.
